Todmorden area schools

Date effective: from Monday 19th May 2025.

Summary: due to changes to the 591 service bus timetable from Burnley to Todmorden, affecting Todmorden High School pupils from the Portsmouth area, revisions will be made to accommodate these pupils on the existing primary school services operating in Todmorden:-

• Todmorden High School pupils will be able to use the P94 primary school service.
• Services C95, P94, P95 will each be slightly retimed. No change to the routes.
• Additional PM only trip on the P94 for St. Joseph's and Todmorden High School only.

The details are as follows:-

Todmorden High School: 591 riders between Portsmouth and the school will be accommodated on the revised P94 service, as below. Boarding passes will not be required for the remainder of this school year, just turn up and ride.

C95 Walsden to Todmorden High school service: revised times. No change to the route.

P94 Portsmouth to Shade School via Todmorden High School, St. Joseph's School and Castle Hill School. 

P94 AM: revised times departing from outside Cornholme School earlier at 08:10 with Todmorden High School pupils also able to use this service as a replacement for the 591. No change to the route.

P94 PM: split into two journeys as follows:-

• The first trip will start at and serve St. Joseph's School departing at 15:15, then picking up Todmorden High School pupils at 15:18, then onward to Portsmouth via Burnley Road.
• The second trip will start at Shade School with revised times departing 15:38 then via Castle Hill School (15:47) and onward to Portsmouth (arrive 1614) as per the current route. This second trip will not serve St. Joseph's School.

P95 Walsden to Cornholme School via St Joseph's School: revised times AM and PM departing Walsden Waggon and Horses 08:22, PM departing Cornholme School 15:37.

On-board escort: these will remain on all P94 and P95 trips and will facilitate seating separation between high school and primary school pupils.
